FAQ
Short answers before you apply
These answers cover the main questions about beta fit, the local-first model, confirmed actions, and what already works today.
Does everyone around me need Koan for it to be useful?
No. Koan is already useful for one person. It gathers incoming messages in one place and helps you move faster from signal to response.
Is this a replacement for Telegram and email on day one?
No. Koan does not ask you to abandon your current channels. It pulls them into one inbox and helps you work on top of the rails you already use.
What does local-first mean here?
It means the main runtime, data, and logic stay with the user. Cloud models, Relay, and external services can connect, but they are not the required foundation of the product.
What already works today?
Koan already has a working desktop interface, Satellite, multi-source collection, digest flows, and a roadmap with completed milestones M1-M5.
Can Koan act without confirmation?
Risky actions are meant to stay visible and confirmable. Koan is being built so important steps do not disappear into the background without your awareness.
