Do the people you message need it, does Koan replace Telegram, where data lives, and what already works.
Do the people I message also need to use Koan?
No. Koan is only for you. The people you talk to keep using regular Telegram and install nothing.
Is this a replacement for Telegram?
No. You keep using regular Telegram. Koan works alongside it: it answers questions about your chats and prepares drafts, and you send them yourself.
Where are my chats stored?
On your computer. The AI model also runs locally by default. You can connect a cloud model, but it is not required.
What can I try in the beta today?
Telegram connect, a map of your contacts, answers from your chats, drafts with confirmation, and a first-run wizard. We are recruiting beta participants with live Telegram. Support for other channels comes later.
Can Koan act without me?
It depends on your settings. By default, Koan shows drafts and asks for confirmation. As trust grows, you can allow routine actions without confirmation — important decisions still go through you.
